The CommServer UA package consists of the components that are shown in the figure below.

  • CommServer Monitor - software used only for reading diagnostic information from the communication server. This is the same application that is used in CommServer for OPC Classic ( read more about CommServer Monitor ).

  • CommServer Communication Engine - the essential part of the package. It consists of a scanner, cache and OPC interface. This is the same engine that is used in CommServer for OPC Classic. Read more about CommServer Engine in Theory of operation chapter.

  • DefaultConfig.xml - XML configuration file, CommServer uses this file for initiating a database of connection, protocols, remote station and process values.

  • Network Configurator - an application that is used for editing the configuration of CommServer. It saves configuration in the XML file (on the figure DefaultConfig.xml). . This is the same application that is used in CommServer for OPC Classic (read more about CommServer Network Configuration tool ).
